Russian Boars and Ferrell hogs are tough animals and require exact shot placement  to ensure a speedy recovery.  The proper place to shoot a Russian Boar is in the heart and lung area below the red arrow shown in the diagram below.  A hit above the red line will kill the pig but could cause you to loose the animal.  High hits tend not to leave a very good blood trail making recovery very difficult.
